Heritage Park Amphitheater Independence Day Celebration
Music, fireworks and family fun at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, South Carolina head the list of Independence Day celebrations in Greenville County, SC. Presented by the Greenville County Recreation District, the Fourth of July festivities at Heritage Park Amphitheater feature the Greenville Symphony Orchestra playing patriotic favorites complete with the 1812 Overture accompanied by cannons and fireworks. In this video, viewers hear from Greenville County Council Chairman Butch Kirven and Simpsonville Mayor Dennis Waldrop who talk about those who shared the vision of Heritage Park and how it would benefit residents of Simpsonville, one of six municipalities in Greenville County. Home to Freedom Weekend Aloft and other major events for the county, Heritage Park has an outdoor amphitheater with approximately 3,800 fixed seats and 8,000 lawn seats. Some events, including the Independence Day celebration, feature a dinner theater set. Viewers hear from Anthony Marotta, Director of Operations and Artistic Administration for the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, and see the energy of GSO Maestro Edvard Tchivzhel and the orchestra in action. Also in this video, viewers get a glimpse of a rare three-and-one-half inch cannon that was manufactured in Rome, GA in 1862. The cannon was fired as part of the Fourth of July celebration.
