Bouharoun's
Bouharoun’s Party Shop has been selling fine wines and premium liquors to Greenville area residents since 1946. Located at the corner of Falls and Broad Streets behind the Greenville News building in downtown Greenville, SC, Bouharoun’s carries about 1,000 different brands of wines and liquors. A favorite stop for Greenville area wine collectors, Bouharoun’s carries bottles of wine that range from nine dollars per bottle to rare vintages that cost $5,000 per bottle. In this video, second generation Greenville business owner Pete Bouharoun talks about the store's selections of wines and champagnes from all over the world. Bouharoun shows viewers some of his more popular champagnes including Taittinger from France, his personal favorite - a Krug Rose, and a 1997 vintage Salon, which is $419 per bottle. Bouharoun also tells viewers the interesting history of the store, which Bouharoun’s father purchased from former Greenville Mayor Max Heller. Unbeknownst to Heller, he became the owner of the store when the former owner died and Heller acquired it as the executor of the former owner’s estate. One of the only remaining Art Deco buildings in Greenville, Bouharoun’s was constructed post WWII in 1946. Prominent beverage retailer Stanley Brown built the store in the middle of town to comply with a local ordinance mandating that liquor could only be sold within the city limits.
Bouharoun’s Party Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 9am until 7pm.
