Greenville High School Spirit Week
On October 23, 2009, the annual Spirit Week competition will kick off between Greenville Senior High Academy and cross-town rival JL Mann Academy. The annual contest between the Greenville High Red Raiders and the Patriots of JL Mann High School includes more than which team wins on the football field. Real bragging rights go to the school that raises the most money in one week for its chosen charities. In this video, viewers get a taste of what the weeklong fundraising effort will be like at Greenville High, the home of the Red Raiders. GHS Student Body President Graham Bichell talks about the yearly competition to raise the most money for local charities and the charities that have been selected by students to receive funds - Greenville Family Partnership, Potential Youth Foundation, Triune Mercy Center and the Kroc Center. Greenville High Pep Rally then travel to Sirrine Stadium for a Greenville High home game. The amount of money raised by both schools during Spirit Week 2009 will be unveiled during halftime of the Greenville-JL Mann football game, which begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, at Sirrine Stadium in Greenville, SC.
