107-3 Jamz / BI-LO Upstate Family Reunion

The 6th Annual 107-3 Jamz / BI-LO Upstate Family Reunion was held July 31- August 1 at Heritage Park in Simpsonville, SC. The two-day festival is a free family-friendly event that has grown from 5,000 attendees its first year to more than 34,000 attendees in 2009. Billed as the biggest picnic in South Carolina, the 107-3 Jamz / BI-LO Upstate Family Reunion draws families from all over the Upstate region of South Carolina, as well as Georgia and North Carolina. The event moved to Heritage Park this year to better accommodate the growing crowd, according to organizers from Greenville, SC radio station, 107-3 Jamz. The amphitheatre will allow event organizers to bring in bigger acts, and the size of the park and the easy access to Interstate-385 will accommodate larger crowds as the event continues to gain popularity. This year, the 107-3 Jamz / BI-LO Upstate Family Reunion featured a larger midway, an expanded McDonald’s Children's play area, a larger vendor village, and free concerts by R&B singers Tank and Ginuwine. In this video, 107-3 Jamz Midday Show Host Kelly Mac gives an overview of the annual Upstate Family Reunion event. Viewers also hear from several contestants of the $5,000 BI-LO BBQ Cook-Off, as well as the 2008 Cook-Off winner. Introduced for the first time in 2008, the BI-LO BBQ Cook-Off includes competitions and awards prizes in meat, side dish and dessert categories.
