Back To Nature Festival

Every October, the Greenville County Recreation District celebrates the heritage of northern Greenville County at the Back To Nature Festival. The daylong event is held at Pleasant Ridge Park in Marietta, SC, a 240-acre park nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In this video, Joseph Lanahan, program manager for the Greenville County Recreation District, talks about the festival’s food, children’s activities, vendors and live entertainment. Viewers get a glimpse of The Drovers Old Time Medicine Show and hear some of the traditional bluegrass music the local group brings to the Back To Nature Festival. Vendors include local craftspeople selling handcrafted jewelry, soy candles, honey and more. Viewers also hear from Louise Harris from Louise’s House of Dance in Travelers Rest, SC who has been bringing a group of cloggers to the Back To Nature Festival for more than ten years. One of the Greenville County Recreation District’s oldest events, the Back To Nature Festival celebrates nature, the mountains, the people and the places of northern Greenville County. Maintained by the Greenville County Recreation District, Pleasant Ridge Park in Marietta, offers a four-acre, stocked lake, a 25-site family campground and primitive sites.
