G Magazine Giving Back Awards

The 2nd annual Giving Back Awards ceremony was held on April 22, 2010. G Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Jack Bacot, announced this year’s winners. The Giving Back Awards ceremony recognizes the extraordinary efforts of the philanthropic community in Greenville, SC. Honoring individuals, businesses, and other non-profit organizations, the Giving Back Awards acknowledge those who take their civic responsibility seriously and strive to bring about awareness for the betterment of the community. The awards honor two individuals, one business, and one non-profit organization whose dedication to give back to the community are exceptional. The 2010 winners are: Benevolent Spirit Award – Mary Burnet Johnston; Community Spirit Award – Center for Developmental Services, Jamie Moon, Executive Director; Creative Spirit Award – radii & Hill-Mullikin, and Jay Kirkman; Philanthropic Spirit Award – T&S Brass and Bronze Works, Claude Theisen, CEO; Readers Choice Award – Anita Pacylowski-Justo; and the Lifetime Achievement Award – Drs. David and Susan Shi. The Giving Back Awards ceremony was presented by Carolina First, and sponsored by many local businesses, including Eric Brown Design, Charter, Larkins on the River, Rowan Company, Wilson’s on Washington, Christa Hovis-Special Events, Williamson Evans, Thomas Creek Brewery, and Zen, which is also the venue where the event was held.
