Larkin's Rhythm On The River
Every Thursday night from May until September, the amphitheatre behind the Peace Center for the Performing Arts comes alive with the sound of Carolina beach music. Now in its fourteenth year, Larkin's Rhythm on the River combines music, dancing, food and fun to make it a premier spring and summertime event in Greenville, South Carolina. Hosted by Beach Bob Ross and Kathy Cole from the Beach Bob Oldies Show on WOLT 103.3, Rhythm On The River brings to town some of the best beach and shag bands in the business including The Embers, The Tams, The Fantastic Shakers, Band of Oz, and The Catalinas. In this video, fans of both beach music and the outdoors enjoy a night under the stars as The Fantastic Shakers take the amphitheatre stage. Viewers hear from WOLT's Beach Bob and Kathy Cole, and see Greenvillians dance The Shag, the state dance of South Carolina. Viewers also get a welcome from Bob Munnich, general manager of Larkin's on the River. Aside from bringing quality entertainment to beach music fans,
Rhythm on the River serves as a key fundraiser for charities in the Greenville community, having raised more than $250,000 for local non-profits.
