107-3Jamz/WYFF 4/Hot 98-1 Career Fair

Thousands of people packed Haywood Mall in Greenville, South Carolina on Saturday, July 18, for the One-Stop Career Fair presented by Greenville County One-Stop and sponsored by Cox Broadcasting radio stations 107-3 Jamz, and Hot 98.1, and WYFF-TV. More than 60 Upstate area employers were on hand trying to fill more than 2,500 available jobs in Greenville, Spartanburg and surrounding counties. Available jobs included those in the healthcare, engineering, insurance and financial fields. Samsung, which recently announced it is bringing a new customer service center to the area, was at the One-Stop Career Fair trying to fill more than 500 jobs. In this video, viewers meet job seekers at all levels from recent college graduates to seasoned professionals who have been laid off. Colleges, universities, and companies that offer re-training programs also were part of the Career Fair. The July 18 Career Fair was scheduled after a successful fair in March that drew almost 8,000 job seekers. Sponsors and attendees of the One-Stop Career Fair say the event is a great opportunity for networking and face-to-face contact with local and national employers that are currently hiring. Because there are so many employers all in one place on the same day, Career Fairs have become a very efficient use of time for employers, as well as those needing employment. Officials with Career Fair sponsors 107-3Jamz and Hot 98.1 said a third fair likely would be held this year.
