Last Band Standing

G Magazine and the City of Greenville presented the Last Band Standing competition on June 24, 2010 at the Handlebar in Greenville, SC. The competition started with 25 bands from the upstate of SC showcasing their talent at different venues over the course of one month. Through the process of elimination, only four bands made it to the finals: Finger of Speech; East North; Green Vegas; and Lionz of Zion. Judges for the Last Band Standing competition were local radio DJ, Heidi Aiken, of B93.7; Carl Sobocinski of Table 301 Restaurant Group; and Elaine Fleming with the City of Greenville Special Events Department. The winner was selected by tabulating online votes, judges’ votes, and crowd response. This year, the winner of the Last Band Standing was reggae-funk band, Lionz of Zion. They will be the playing on the Pepsi Stage, in front of City Hall from 5:30-7pm, on July 4th at the Red, White & Blue Festival in downtown Greenville, SC.
