Saffron's Sidewalk Cafe

Glenn Sawicki has been in the restaurant business for almost 25 years as a restaurant owner and as a menu consultant for many different restaurants across the country. After growing tired of a hectic travel schedule, Glenn opened Saffrons Sidewalk Cafe in the West End Market in downtown Greenville, SC. A favorite lunchtime spot, Saffrons offers one of the largest outdoor dining patios in downtown Greenville. For indoor dining, Saffrons offers a fun and cheerful bright yellow motif with plenty of local art as a backdrop. Saffrons specializes in salads, wraps, fresh chicken dishes and several vegetarian options. In this video, viewers make a lunchtime visit to Saffrons and meet owner Glenn Sawicki, who explains that while burgers are a big seller at his downtown Greenville restaurant, it is against his religion to own a fryer. Viewers also get a glimpse of Wrought Iron Hall, a 7,000-square-foot event hall in the West End Market where Saffrons caters rehearsal dinners, private birthday parties, fund raising events for Greenville area charities, wedding receptions and other special events. Saffrons operates a large on- and off-premise catering business, using local facilities such as the Upcountry History Museum, Zen and the Innovate Building. In August 2009, Saffrons will open a second location at the new Childrens Museum in downtown Greenville. Like its West End counterpart, the new Saffrons location will be open seven days a week - Monday through Friday from 8am until 4pm, Saturday from 9am until 4pm, and Sunday from 10am until 3pm.
