Trattoria Giorgio

Located at 121 South Main Street in downtown Greenville across from the Westin Poinsett Hotel, Trattoria Giorgio was a favorite dining spot for actors George Clooney and Renee Zellweger during Upstate filming of the 2008 film, Leatherheads. Trattoria Giorgio offers traditional Italian cuisine in an intimate setting. In this video, restaurant owner and chef Giorgio Todisco gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look into his kitchen where he prepares his famous Pappardelle Bolognese, a dish of Pappardelle pasta with a homemade meat sauce. All pastas are prepared on the premises, a demonstration of Giorgio's commitment to a quality dining experience.Born in Bergamo, Italy, Giorgio has 25 years experience in the restaurant business. His earliest influences began in the kitchen watching his mother and grandmother prepare many meals and celebrations for family and friends. Giorgio attended the Institute Professional for Hotels in San Pellegrino. He has worked in restaurants in Bergamo, Switzerland, the Florida Keys, and Greenville, SC. Trattoria Giorgio enjoys an experienced staff, several of whom have been with the restaurant since the beginning. The dining room is elegantly casual, and reservations are strongly recommended. Patio dining is available if the weather permits. Restaurant hours are Tuesday through Saturday 6 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
