Paul Schmidt 09/10 Video Reel

Hi I'm Paul Schmidt, I'm 16 and I live in Greenville, South Carolina. I'm a Junior at Mauldin High School. This is a video reel of recent projects I've been working on that I shared at my Fine Arts Center interview. Growing up I always wanted to be able to make a video using my own creativity and imagination. In 7th grade I bought a Sony VX2100 and started filming/editing. All I filmed was skating until I hit high school. I would bring in my skate videos and some of my teachers realized I loved what I was doing. One of my teachers thought I could proceed in making other types of videos. At first I only filmed student council events/meetings. Then in my sophomore year, the head football coach approached me and asked if I was interested in making a season documentary for the team. I filmed all the games and traveled with the team to every game. Since sophomore year I have filmed music videos, weddings, parties, sport highlights, etc. Filming/Editing is definitely something I love and I want to make a career out of it. I am currently filming with a HDV Sony FX1 and using Final Cut Studio 2 for all of my work.
