Christopher Park Gallery & Rainer's
Christopher Park Gallery features quirky, one-of-a-kind paintings, pottery and other collectible pieces from local and regional artists. Located at 608-A South Main Street in the Historic West End District of Greenville, South Carolina, Christopher Park Gallery is a non-traditional gallery offering folk and outsider art in various mediums, as well as functional and decorative pottery and home accessories. Known for 'art that’s kinda different, yet oddly comforting', a large selection of the pieces at Christopher Park Gallery are created from repurposed materials. In this video, gallery owner Betty Bercowski shows viewers examples of her unique jewelry selections including a bracelet made from old typewriter keys, a garden turtle made from an old army helmet, and a bracelet crafted from toothbrush handles. Bercowski also shows viewers her colorful and distinct selection of handbags including those made from zippers, sails, seatbelts, and soda can tabs.
Christopher Park Gallery recently expanded to include Rainer's, a cell-phone free café, with fresh offerings that are perfect for a light lunch including freshly made sandwiches and salads. Rainer's also serves homemade desserts and coffee locally roasted by Leopard Forest Coffee Co. in Travelers Rest, SC. The walls at Rainer's are adorned with bright, colorful paintings and wall art, all of which is priced and ready for sale at prices that encourage beginning collectors.
Rainer's is open Tuesday and Wednesday 11 to 6-ish, Thursday 11 to 9-ish, and Friday and Saturday 11 to 11-ish.
