Ponthieux's Jewelry Design Studio

Ponthieux's Jewelry Design Studio at 2219-B Augusta Street in Greenville, SC uses the latest 3D technology to design and create one-of-a-kind rings, pendants and other pieces of fine jewelry. Opened in April 2001, Ponthieux’s Jewelry Design Studio is a non-traditional jewelry store where jewelry is designed and made in the store by Michael and Wanda Ponthieux. In this video, Michael and Wanda take viewers through the process of designing and creating a one-of-a-kind ring, showing the computer aided design step that allows the customer to see exactly how the ring will look, and the wax casting step where the ring mold is made. Ponthieux’s specializes in taking an older piece of jewelry that is rarely or never worn, and turning it into a newly designed piece. The store also handles jewelry repair, and carries pearl and diamond jewelry including engagement rings. An award-winning jewelry maker, Michael Ponthieux has won first place in at least one category of the annual South Carolina Jewelry Association competition seven out of the last eight years. In 2006, he won Best of Show and went on to national competition. Ponthieux’s Jewelry Design Studio is open Monday through Friday from 10 am until 5 pm, and on Saturday by appointment.
