Alicia Thiers is an esthetician and certified laser safety officer operating Alicia’s Skin & Laser Clinic, LLC at Milestone Family Medicine in Greenville, SC. With more than 20 years of experience as an esthetician, Alicia attended the National Laser Institute in Scottsdale, AZ to become certified to use Intense Pulse Light (IPL) therapy to treat Rosacea, vascular conditions such as Facial Telangiectasia, and Photodamaged skin on the face, hands and body. In this video, Alicia explains that IPL is not a laser, rather a broad spectrum of high intensity pulses of light that penetrate the skin. Alicia demonstrates IPL therapy on a client undergoing age spot removal. She explains that the IPL device has a cooling system on its tip, so clients feel no intense heat or pain during treatment. Alicia’s Skin & Laser Clinic also offers dermaplaning, tattoo removal and hair removal. IPL treatment results in permanent hair removal, compared with waxing, which must be done about every six weeks. Also in this video, viewers hear from one of Alicia’s clients who receives spray tanning at Alicia’s Skin & Laser Clinic. The client explains that the spray tanning method offered by Alicia is much safer than other tanning methods.
