Upstate Greyhound Club

The Upstate Greyhound Club is a group of greyhound owners from Greenville County and surrounding areas who give support to and promote greyhound adoption. The club met for the first time in March 2008 for an Easter event at Poinsett Park in Travelers Rest, SC. In this video, club owners and their greyhounds meet for the 2nd Annual Easter Event at the Travelers Rest park. Upstate Greyhound Club President Theresa Huff introduces Darby, her adopted greyhound, and talks about the goals of the club and upcoming events like the Hound Hike and Picnic. Viewers also meet club members Denise Dyer and Heidi Baker, and their adopted greyhounds. A group formed for mutual support and fun, the Upstate Greyhound Club also is working to form a greyhound sitting exchange service, a pet therapy program to visit area nursing homes, and a senior owners group to assist newly adoptive owners and those interested in adoption. The club also supports research being done to improve the health and lives of greyhounds at the Greyhound Health and Wellness Program at Ohio State University.
