Greenville Women Giving
Greenville Women Giving, a non-profit organization comprised of women, is a special initiative of the Community Foundation and was started in Greenville, SC in 2006. These women are committed to helping the local community by awarding grants in five areas: arts and culture, education, health, human services, and environment. The organization issues grants starting at $40,000 and going up to $100,000. GWG has given more than $1,250,000 over its 4 years in existence. Membership into the organization is open to any woman who is willing to give $1,000 a year for a minimum of 3 years as well as a small administrative fee.
