Reedy River Duck Derby

Each year the Rotary Club of Greenville Evening sponsors the Reedy River Duck Derby, bringing people and ducks together by the thousands, to the banks of the Reedy River in downtown Greenville, SC. Ten thousand rubber ducks, each sporting colorful bills and snazzy sunglasses, are released into the Reedy River in Falls Park to race and raise money for local and international charities. The Rotary Club of Greenville Evening is an international organization of professional men and women whose motto is “service above self”. The Duck Derby is just one way the organization seeks to serve the Greenville community and beyond. It is an annual fundraiser to help those in need, and it is also a community event that brings people to Falls Park in Greenville, SC, for a day of fun and excitement. The rubber ducks are available for “adoption” in the weeks prior to the event with proceeds going to those local and international charities selected by the Rotary Club of Greenville Evening. The ducks race down the Reedy River, over the falls, to the finish line for a chance to win one of many great prizes. Duck adopters and onlookers line the river banks to cheer for their favorite duck, in hopes that their rubber duck will take home the Grand Prize. This year marks the 6th Reedy River Duck Derby, making it one of the most popular and exciting events in Greenville.
