The Quick Jobs with a Future program at Greenville Technical College offers training and certifications that are skills specific and job preparatory with most courses lasting three months or less. Classes are held at convenient times and locations, and at prices that are affordable. Based at Greenville Tech’s Buck Mickel Center on South Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville, South Carolina, the Quick Jobs program allows working adults or those in career transition to quickly obtain skills matching the needs of local business and industry. In this video, Quick Jobs Program Director Steve Hand talks about the variety of hands-on training and job opportunities available to Quick Jobs students in the growing heath care industry such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomist, Medical Coding, Hospital Billing & Coding, and Ophthalmic Medial Assistant. For those not interested in the medical field, Quick Jobs offers many other options including Truck Driver Training, Welding, Carpentry and Plumbing. A total of 16,275 people have completed training in the Quick Jobs program at Greenville Tech. In 2008, 2,554 students completed training with 75 percent of those finding employment even in a difficult economy. Also in this video, viewers go into classrooms where students are receiving certifications for phlebotomy, ophthalmic assistant, medical billing and coding, and certified nursing assistant.
