Each year at Halloween, the Greenville County Recreation District presents Enchanted Tracks, a fairy tale trick-or-treat experience at The Pavilion Recreation Complex in Taylors, SC. The seasonal event for children ages 10 and under includes trick-or-treating through a fairy tale neighborhood that features 11 enchanted characters including Robin Hood and Shrek. In this video, viewers meet some of the characters and hear about the third annual Enchanted Tracks from Greenville County Recreation District Program Manager Joe Lanahan. In addition to the trick-or-treat trail, little ghosts and goblins that attend Enchanted Tracks can visit the Enchanted Village, which features games, inflatables and food. The event also includes a nightly costume contest where children compete in two age categories for scariest costume, cutest, most original and best overall. Enchanted Tracks visitors also can ride George The Train, which runs on a half-mile track on the grounds of The Pavilion Recreation Complex. The train runs every ten minutes during Enchanted Tracks, carrying almost 1,000 total riders each night of the event. The Greenville County Recreation District manages more than 45 parks and facilities throughout Greenville County including seven community centers, a waterpark, ice-skating rink, inline rink, and a 10 mile rail-trail greenway. Construction is underway to build an additional waterpark at Northside Park, add waterpark features at Lakeside Park, and a residential camp facility for therapeutic recreation programs at Pleasant Ridge Park.
