Bob Inglis For Congress

Bob Inglis was first elected to Congress in 1992, serving six years as a U.S. House member from the Fourth District (Greenville, Spartanburg and Union counties and a portion of Laurens County) of South Carolina before returning to his commercial real estate law practice from 1999 until 2004. Upstate voters sent Inglas back to Washington in 2006 and 2008. He is the incumbent in a crowded Republican Congressional primary to be held on June 10, 2010. In this video, Inglis talks about three areas of focus for the future during an interview in early October 2009 at the BMW Zentrum on the campus of BMW Manufacturing Co. in Greer, SC. Inglis says he believes America’s best days are ahead and that he wants to be in Washington to help lead the country toward energy independence, a resurgence of manufacturing and a cultural renewal. Inglis predicts that two years following the economic recovery in the United States, gas prices will again soar to $4 per gallon. He believes the road to energy independence runs through South Carolina via the International Center for Automotive Research, and through energy saving products being developed by Upstate companies such as General Electric, Michelin and Milliken. Inglis believes that breaking the U.S. addiction to oil will create jobs of the future and the resurgence in U.S. manufacturing. A native of Bluffton, SC, Bob Inglis resides in Travelers Rest, SC in Greenville County. He and his wife, Mary Anne, have five children.
